Thank God they lowered the expectations after Starfield.

I mean we could do things like Arkham Knight, Flight Simulator, The Last of Us 2 and so on. Do we really need to do everything realtime or could we continue baking GI?
I haven’t played the game yet but i wonder if the sequel would have same effect as Hogwarts legacy, given that it is probably the best Harry Potter game in decades. More of same might not be a big global phenomenon maybe.
Unpopular opinion but I actually like ubisoft, they’ve their own space in gaming and their games are good junk food games.
Just keep in mind that it is supposed to be difficult in the first few hours. But as you skill it starts getting easier to the point that you’re walking killing machine that can unlock any lock, speech check almost anything and buy the best gear.
Yes it is. It even has schedules for NPCs, activities to do, people reacting to your clothes or cleanliness, your hunger level or sleepiness, day night cycle, an interesting fast travel mechanism.
I also love their pickpocketing mini game.
Yet other map ignoring New Zealand.

120 hours in and I’m still playing Kingdom Come Deliverance. I think I like it much better than Skyrim. The only thing I don’t like about it is the missing crosshair for bows, but a simple console command fixes that for me. I’ve not yet completed the main quest lol and there are still plenty of side quests to finish. It’s crazy how the studio pushed CryEngine of all things into this interesting RPG. Puts Bethesda to shame honestly.
If PS4 -> PS5 isn’t a big enough of a leap for gamers and publishers, then I wonder what would PS5 -> PS6 look like? Is higher resolution at 60 FPS with better ray tracing enough?
If I were young I would totally play all the games I could. They young ones saw 2008, pandemic, wars, inflation. If not escapism then what?
tl;dr: it is what it is
I guess we’ll see one or two games do this every 1-2 years, and I think that’s actually fine. Baldur’s Gate 3 did it but in the end optimising for Series S improved it for everyone. Alan Wake 2 devs said it was hard to fit things into Series S memory but they got there in the end and even delivered a 60 FPS mode. Even Immortals of Avuem got it working at 60 FPS for Series S.
It sucks for the devs for sure and they should leverage it to get some concessions from Microsoft for making them do all the hard work. Maybe a smaller platform fee, or partial funding.
Big if true
They worked on both their engine and Starfield. I just hope now the next games don’t require too much engine work (since it was anyway designed around segmented maps of Oblivion and Fallout 3) and can ship games at a faster cadence.
Not sure if the generalization is true, but the point of most stories is to make the protagonist look good and relatable and antagonist look bad and horrible.
God of War, however, is an interesting story where the protagonist is actually pretty unstable with a dark past and on a rampage to kill all gods. He’s the monster in a way, and the monsters he has been killing are usually pawns of these gods.
AI is going through an “there’s an app for that” phase. 2-5 years from now we’ll see where AI actually makes most sense.
Xbox has tried very hard to convince you to play their games on anything but the Xbox. Cloud? Sure. PC? Sure. PS5? Sure. Switch? Most definitely.
Weren’t they gaslighting Xbox players that the modes are working fine?
I wonder how good does the Matrix awakens demo runs with 5.4
People keep complaining how games are hard to make and timelines are skewed, but Sony has been pumping absolutely bangers with their remasters. We’ve already seen SpiderMan remastered, uncharted remastered, last of us 1 and 2 remastered, and now horizon and days gone remastered, all in 4 years. I literally can’t get enough of these single player games with infinite replayability.
