pretty dumb, cheesy, and flat out badly written at times
So, a great adaptation of the Fallout setting, then. 👍

faithful adaptation
Cue Shady Sands controversy.
It’s a good adaptation, but not necessarily a faithful one (though, frankly, I’m not deep enough into the lore to tell, or care).
Looks like New Vegas might show up in season two, so we’ll see if and how they make the timelines fit (though if they do it’ll have to be a pretty tight fit, seems like).
We had the phone guy. He used to walk around town with a red plastic rotary phone, and occasionally tell passersby they had a call.
Then cellphones happened, and he just sort of… vanished.
It’s been a long time now, of course, but sometimes I still think of him and worry what it must have been like, being sort of outcompeted off his little self assigned ecological niche of sorts what must have felt like overnight. One day you’re the phone guy, next day everyone’s walking around with a phone on their ear, and you’re stuck with your old unplugged red rotary phone. Tragic.
he had been awarded two Hugo awards, six Locus awards, two Nebula awards, a Bram Stoker award, a World Fantasy award, and a couple Emmys before he even published A Game of Thrones.
Oh, well then I guess he’s just not very good
🤦♂️
I think George should have written a few simpler novels to practice good writing before he went and did a big project like this.
Guy’s been writing professionally since 1970; his first full length novel was punished in 1976; he had been awarded two Hugo awards, six Locus awards, two Nebula awards, a Bram Stoker award, a World Fantasy award, and a couple Emmys before he even published A Game of Thrones.
Him having no experience writing shorter works is extremely evidently not the problem.
Him not having written something on the scale of A Song of Ice and Fire before, and writing himself into a gordian knot of plotlines and characters his aged brain might not be able to untangle, on the other hand, might.
Or he simply lost interest and would rather write about gridiron in his not a blog. 🤷♂️
Dbzer0 recently had issues with long federation queues with big instances, due to delays in database access caused by geographic distance between frontend and backend… maybe this might be caused by something similar…?
How is torture supposed to be cool, funny, or witty in any way…?
If any composer was going to be mathematically proven to be anything, it pretty much had to be Bach…
Counterpoint: Biotechnica. Those bastards are almost as bad as scavs. Some of them are worse.
Also, maybe it looks normal for Americans, but what Militech are doing in the badlands definitely ain’t right. (Phantom Liberty kind of ruins it by treating Militech’s puppet president like one of the good guys, though. Night City ain’t part of the NUSA, and it doesn’t want to be!)
And, besides all the relic stuff, Saburo was also seriously considering nuking Night City (properly, not like Silverhand’s half assed job), so there’s that, too.
