Never refuse food or gifts. It’s not necessarily an offense if you refuse, but I know a lot of Americans that love to share. Me included. I love making southern food dishes for people that never eaten it. My my black-eyed peas and cornbread is something I think everyone should try

As someone with dietary issues I hate this, everyone trying to force insane things down my throat ‘its goodwholesomehonemade! You have to try it!’ And its some oil, grease and salt mess that’ll leave a vie ltaste my mouth and upset my stomach for days.

‘I just know you’ll love…’ no, no you don’t. People that I politetly try to explain I have a delicate stomach to but they but still pout and try to push are the worst - I don’t want to argue but also I don’t want the next two days ruined.

It’s hard to think of any one particular thing that you should avoid doing. A lot of things for tourists in big tourist areas like Las Vegas are deliberately over-priced, but a lot of those things are exactly what you go there for. Show tickets, tours and all that kind of thing are often over inflated if you sign up right on the Las Vegas Strip for instance, so shop around and see if you can do better. If you’re traveling in the Southwest around Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Texas / etc It’s going to be HOT this time of year so dress appropriately and stay hydrated! Everyone seems to want to make this about healthcare and so on, but every place on earth has problems and if this is where you choose to travel then more power to you and I hope you have a great time!

The biggest do’s and dont’s will be related to driving. For example, do use your turn signals when making a turn while driving, and don’t randomly park in peoples’ driveways.

It depends on where you go. NYC has a whole lot of norms and expectations that aren’t true for a small town in Ohio, for example.
