Waitaminit, wouldn’t this rating be subject to effort bias, i.e. One thinks more highly of things that one has paid money for?
The first Mortal Kombat movie was a classic!
Team names were originally tied to local history, local flora and fauna, and nicknames for the locals.
For example, people from Indiana became nicknamed the Hoosiers.
Then the Hoosiers nickname got picked up as the sports teams’ name for Indiana University Bloomington.
Similarly, (University of Tennessee) Volunteers
And so on and so forth
My favorite of these is the Toledo Mud Hens minor league baseball team.
Then came major pro sports… The pro teams started out as named for local things, but as they discovered national sports broadcasting and marketing, the names became more and more generic to appeal to a wider audiences, so now you get names like Washington Commanders (which is a vast improvement from their long standing insulting name of Redskins, BTW).
Then there are the teams that moved whose names don’t make sense for where they’re located… The Minneapolis Lakers were named after the Great Lakes of that region, then they moved and became the Los Angeles Lakers, which doesn’t make local sense at all.
Pathos Nethack on Android. It’s a version of Nethack that’s optimized for mobile screens and interfaces. It still takes skill and knowledge to play well, but the RNG can screw with your character in amazing ways to make every game just a little different.
And most importantly, it doesn’t require a network connection, so I can fire it up wherever I am.
Successfully replaced my car’s accessory power socket/cigarette lighter socket. Now my phone can be plugged in and charge while I drive without dragging the cord from a further socket!
You’re right. Got them confused with Spiderman. It’s hard to keep track…
Just saw it.
Not bad. Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds comic timing, or at least the editing, is spot on. The fangasm trip through the SonyFox X-Men movies, and significant cameos of characters, props, and objects from Marvel movies past, not necessarily MCU movies.
That one fight was good even if it didn’t really have an ending.
A good time, overall
So like the Radio Shack TRS-80 “Trash 80” Model 100 from 1983… https://www.computerhistory.org/revolution/mobile-computing/18/316/1684
Galaxy Quest - The best Star Trek movie ever… The squiddies are such great sidekicks, so relatable, and you hate to let them down, the catchphrases are actually good: “Never give up, never surrender!” “By Grabthar’s Hammer, you shall be avenged…”
Azure is MS’s cloud computing. As long as you weren’t using MS OneDrive, or 365 Office, or something else that relied on MS cloud, you’re good.
What about the horror movie where a cabal of Christian conservative billionaires conspire to remake society following their conservative ideology, making life a hellhole for regular people, but nobody seems to notice?
TIL Lindsay Lohan not dead from drugs, alcohol.
Raul Julia’s Bison makes that movie.
The “It was Tuesday” meme in the fighting game community comes from there.
To think he must have been in pain while dying from cancer while he was acting…

Yes, I did try to install it on Windows.
Still, that really disqualifies it from being open source…
Like “free” software requiring installation of weird browser toolbars back in the day. I still have nightmares about those things.
Requires installation of weird undefined “CutoutPro” shit.
That’s a nope from me, dawg.
It might work if the billionaire class would act in enlightened self interest, like the millionaire Rockefellers, Roosevelts, and Carnegies of the 20s and 30s (arguably, and arguably not), but this latest crop of ultra-rich just seem to think “I got mine, now fuck you, I’m going to live in my luxury missile silo bunker when the apocalypse comes”.
Deadpool and Wolverine
Release date in USA is July 26th which, as @fartington@lemm.ee implies, is in the future.
Yes we’re making good progress, but no, it’s not enough.
Was that so difficult?
I guess they can’t use the disparaging phrase “straight to video” anymore.
