For an initial release yeah, but no real reason for them settings to not exist (in an advanced section if they are too scary for people), people are making their voice heard in the right channels though, so we just gotta hope Valve implement them.

It works pretty well, but kind of barebones at the moment, a lack of advanced audio and video settings lets it down.
The timeline feature is great though, being able to easily watch back your gameplay in real-time as it records.
They need support for multiple audio tracks, other codecs, resolution options, framerate options, different bitrate options. Also recording to memory absolutely needs to be an option so I’m not wearing down my disk by constantly writing to it.
Being in either beta gives you access to this. It’s right there on the webpage.
This will be a really cool addition to Steamworks, strange it wasn’t made earlier, but late is better than never.
After being away from consoles for a long time now, they really have little appeal beyond their easy setup and cheaper hardware. The exclusives on any console are not worth buying a whole new console to play. There’s so much more value in PC gaming, the intial barrier of entry and possible technical problems just put people off.
I really think Steam Machines could make a major comeback now, the deck has proved the software side, SteamOS is much more mature.
Yeah you are not wrong, but why have a more expensive chip just to throttle it, better to keep the cost of the deck down so more people can afford it.
It depends on efficiency, it’s all good and well having more performance, but if the battery life is only 2 hours it’s useless. I imagine Valve will wait a couple years yet.
While it’s pretty average as far as action drama shows go, it’s very easy watching! Was pleasantly surprised. I think it fails to establish a lot of things, so non-fallout fans might be a little confused sometimes. I think they could have gone a bit slower and properly introduced the wasteland, its people and its factions. Hopefully they increase the prop budget too, there’s not a lot of weight to things and you see them actually bend the foam power armor in one shot.
47 does provide a peak in the plots though? All the numbers ending in 7 do.
Yeah, the lack of offline installers sucks, but it still updates the game and you can copy them files away whenever you want.
There’s a lot of DRM-free games on Steam. It’s up to developers to use their DRM, it’s not a requirement by Valve.
Marketing, I for one had never heard of the app until the Apple fiasco they brewed up.
Yeah I agree, there’s always room for improvement, but if having smaller phones means sacrificing on camera a bit I don’t mind personally. Samsung probably should have upgraded sensors, but I guess they share the same “its good enough” sentiment I have about that. I’d trade an entire sensor for a micro SD card slot and a 3.5mm port!
Fair enough, but I think for most people the cameras are more than enough. I haven’t used the iPhone ones but the Samsung ones are honestly fantastic already. It’s diminishing returns past that point, like it’s buying an actual camera territory.
It feels like with the cameras in the middle, they have to have smaller PCB area around them? Whereas if they are to the side, there’s a larger space for a PCB. I don’t know though, I think the phone is ugly anyway.
Yeah, that size is certainly the limit for usability tbh. Its diminishing returns past that, I dont need a wider or longer phone, everything can be displayed perfectly on a 6 inch.
Yeah if you keep the same grip, if I change grip I can reach everywhere, though smaller would definitely be easier and more comfortable.
Yeah average male hand sorry. Female hands is another reason we need small phones, that and the illegally small pocket sizes they have to put up with!
I can use it one handed, its not the most comfortable thing for every task, but doable. I would not want a phone any larger though.
Of course there’s some limitations yeah, though the S24 and iPhone 15 have great cameras, more than enough for the majority of people. Most people aren’t power users and won’t even look at specs in-depth, just a glance at what it looks like, storage and price. Size would definitely be a factor people would consider (and already do when they can) and it’s a real shame there aren’t more options.
To be honest looking at the teardowns it’s impressive what Apple and Samsung have managed to fit in their phones, I think the Xiamoi 14 Ultra isn’t doing itself any favours with that camera placement though, seems inefficient having the modules in the middle of the phone?
People would probably buy smaller phones if given the correct choices, I think the iPhone 15 size is good yeah. iPhone is often a fashion statement, so people usually want the highest end they can get and manufacturers tend to put more features in their bigger more expensive models.
There’s no options in the mid-range for smaller phones, most are over 6.5 inches. So people are forced into buying them, there’s definitely a large market for small phones, but manufacturers force them into larger models. I suspect they are easier/cheaper to make, so that’s what we get. Also bigger numbers = better right, so they’d rather crank the marketing on battery, screen etc.
Weird, your client probably didn’t update, I am in families beta and it was there.
