I swear I learn more about LOTR from comment sections under memes than anywhere else.
I remember reading that what we’re seeing lately is a sort of mad dash to churn out as much media as they can before the IP becomes public domain.

I’m trying to remember what I see every day now… I’m sure hospitals and the signs for food/lodging are blue. Maybe airports and train stations too?
When I picture signs for camp grounds, I imagine them as brown, but I could be wrong.
Actual answer for anyone curious: In the US, most public points of interest are marked by brown signs (parks, libraries, zoos, historical sites, etc.)
I had this, but I remember not really getting it at the time and not giving it a fair shot. Maybe it’s time to go back.

I feel the same way. We all know when something’s old and should be more than capable of watching it through that lens.
I’m used to seeing warnings/censorship on newer media for older audiences who might find it uncomfortable, but censoring older media for newer audiences will always seem backwards to me.
It’s such a culture shock to me. Simpsons references are just an understood conversational staple for gen X and millennials (and even a good portion of the boomers).
So are you saying I could buy like, a dozen laptop batteries, take them on a trip to Hawaii with me, and then sell them to pay for my vacation?
