I think it’s great that tech companies are starting to relax on their puritanism, maybe they’ll stop being so heavy handed in moderating other content too or at least provide a space for it

I think it comes up with a little note on the screen telling you that it’s no longer possible to compete the game, you’d get that randomly in a dungeon too because two miles away a bad guy randomly died – belive it out not Todd Howard has got much better since 1996

Elder Scrolls Daggerfall was surely the peek of this, you get a letter at the start telling you to meet a woman in a bar on a set date - turn up too early and she won’t be there, but if you mess around on sidequests and don’t have enough time to travel there so are late then she’ll leave and the main quest never really happens.

There were a million other ways to lock your ability to progress but I always remember that, I don’t know if it was possible to get back on track but I don’t think so, I probably played a thousand hours before I did a run where I even started the main quest

Yeah he’s made a lot of great stuff, you never quite know what you’ll get.

It gets super confusing when you do stuff in the wrong order though. Missing a clue because you didn’t read the right book or something but then randomly finding the end of the quest and everyone is talking like we know all about it.

Loving the game, do agree though that it starts to get a bit muddled and confusing - at times it feels like I’m not really sure which quests I’m doing, why I’m doing it or what I’m trying to achieve – very realistic to real life in that regard but it can feel a bit of a chore

I think he’s just a dedicated liar, it’s scary how many people get away with making money through deception. So many things people work hard at are blocked because there’s a Billy at the top manipulating the media and cheating his way into notoriety. Love the the speedrunning community is so dedicated to discovering them and chucking them out.

I made my steam account when I brought the newly released half-life 2 then didn’t log in again for over fifteen years, I had to find the original CD to get the product id but they let me back and I could play through half-life again - it’s funny you don’t really notice how good valve is as a company until you compare them to literally everyone else.

Since Elon took over they’ve been doing endless quick patches and work arounds so they can rip bits of the code out - you can get away with that as long as you don’t change the core function but the second you make a big change all those little bits are going to be stress tested in all sorts of new ways that require a lot of work hours to fix.

I genuinely think it’s a masterpiece of semi-casual gaming, it’s so easy to get into doing something you feel like doing and to waste as much time as you feel like, yet it always feels like you’re making some form of progress

I’m so out the loop I didn’t even know they were making three, I hope I still have my floppy disk with the save from 2 on it, that was the best thing about the sequel - being able to import your old squad from the first game.
