Also, there’s some pretty successful real time 4X titles too that very much hit mainstream audiences, despite being even more of a niche due to their scale. I think a lot of RTS games often tried too much to compete with the esport niche too, trying to replace the established titles, which is kind of an impossible task. Doing an RTS that doesn’t aim for this goal can still be successful however, if one puts the focus on that instead of targeting unreachable heights.

We do actually agree on that adding more greenhouse gasses is bad. Just because methane breaks down quicker does not mean it is beneficial for our already heating climate. The people who argue against it are typically part of the agriculture lobby, specifically cattle herders etc.

We have seen a similar bullshit resistance with coal miners and the argument of “clean coal”. Or with ICE cars and how badly EV batteries are or how they’re powered by dirty power plants, etc. It’s all bad faith bullshit.

The course we’re on is bad enough that we should talk about it and potentially plan it though. Unless we want to continue to wait until it is too late, just with everything else regarding climate change.

Honestly, it looks more like an update or addon to the first game than a proper sequel. And while the first game was refreshing at the time where true 4X were not that widespread, I feel I’ve outgrown its hybrid genre mix at this point.

I’m guessing it runs on Python, given the name. Either way, I think it’s generally great that more and more mod managers finally are natively Linux compatible. Still hoping for a native one for Bethesda games though.

Though, I would think the model it is trained on would already have an inherent bias against covid disinformation so you’d have to sort of “jailbreak” it into saying something else - which again, doesn’t work like this.
