Things have been a 2024 problem for a few weeks now. The joys of working with hardware, lead times are far longer than software.

Somebody told me yesterday that we’ve run out of toner. Yeah, I’ll get right on that.

Oh but that’s even more fun. Order it, delivery will be attempted at a closed office, and the toner will enter delivery limbo for a week, or eternity. But, you DID get it on order!

Where I work we have six managers. Only one of them is in and she’s already said she has no idea what’s going on.

The thing is there could be major problems that need resolving but no one knows about them.

When I arrived at work, the office was still closed. I waited in the car for half an hour for a coworker with a key to show up. And I’ll have to ask him if he is still around after lunch to let me back in again…

You don’t work in healthcare. Half your coworkers are on vacation and patients aren’t 😭
