Goddammit… I don’t have time for this!
in keeping with the all caps sentiment
FUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!
I will go all in on a case of Mt Mist (balling on a budget) and plastic, bulk sack of fritos twists if that happened. My boy and I still load up Jet Moto 2 for a few races a couple times a year.
Sony failing to get another live service game off the ground really highlights a few things.
How hard it is to launch something in this space. Not only has the market moved away, it was also saturated long before they dropped Condord.
Companies (still) fail to understand that a bad launch isn’t exactly death. There are several ways they could of tried to salvage this instead of just Zaslav’ing it for a tax write off 2 weeks in. We’ve seen plenty of examples in the past 10 years of games that were able to turn themselves around and find success. No reason a company like Sony couldn’t align resources to make it happen here.
This should of been on PS+ Day One… I get not putting your shorttail, singleplayer, prestige titles up there at launch. I also get not wanting to go completely F2P, a microtransaction enabled MP game though? Why the hell wouldn’t you want the biggest audience possible out the gate? Halo Infinite was a shit show at launch but it was free and has maintained a pretty damn solid user base for years because of it. Hell, I’ve even picked up a few season passes and cosmetics despite never playing a Halo MP game in the past (outside of lan’ing up for Halo 1 waaaaay back).
Lots more thoughts, but the schadenfreude is just too much right now to avoid jumping on a still warm corpse.
I think we may be nearing that culture peak again. This movie may have ironically released a bit too early.
I see jncos and goth kids with skateboards all over right now. They look identical to my peer group growing up squarely in the mid-90’s. I wouldn’t be surprised to see this era crow merch flooding hot topic next year.
I know one of those 2 games will be asymmetrical multiplayer based on Boss Games being the dev.
I hope the other isnt MP. We need more single player games based off classic horror IP.
It’s crazy how, at this point, my Game Pass Ultimate 3 year (and now 3 years extended) subscription has yielded so little first party exclusives as originally planned. There is zero compelling reason to renew at this time. What a comedy of bullshit it’s been. Thankfully Phil will retain his job and likely continue to receive bonus shares. That’s what really matters after all.
On the flip side, I appreciate them letting Obsidian cook. That team deserves it.
I did not realize that this game had launched. I didn’t even know what had early access. But, if I had known that the new college football game was available a little bit early, I would have bought it and played with my homies this weekend.
It’s been a real long time since we’ve had a college football game of any type and is someone who is way more into that version of American football than the professional one, I’m stoked that this is coming out.
Also, pre-orders are bad, EA is a terrible company, college football is exploitation, etc…
Fantastic. Thanks for the link!
I had such high hopes for split screen co-op on this one! I will never understand why this feature hasn’t been implemented in these games yet. My wife and I love to play them together but sometimes it would be easier to do it on one device instead of having to both drag out our laptops.
This is my exact review on Steam. What a shit show.
Ex-Zodiac is pretty decent as a tribute. There’s something missing in the presentation though. Opening steam and launching it while using an Xbox controller isnt quite the same vibe as dropping in a cartridge and being tethered to that soap bar brick of a SNES controller.
As a tribute though, gameplay wise, it’s pretty good.
I’ve been slowly playing through the first one. Its a pretty decent game. There’s some unique stuff they’re doing lore/world wise. The combat could be tighter and the waypointing could use some work but there’s a great core and lore. This could be Spiders breakout game.
Phil’s out of the circle of trust. Don’t believe a single thing from his mouth.
I’m not sure when exactly my cake day is but have been hanging out with you shitters a while and truly dig it here.
So much of the community interaction and openness to real dialog and sharing reminds me of the internet I grew up on. Thanks to each and every one of you.
Favorite moment: following discussions on the element channel and actively having a voice in defederating from communities that didn’t align with the goals of our community. Being empowered to shape what this place was gonna look like really drew me in and made me want to keep coming back!
Cheers y’all!

Nextlander is still going strong and independent. GiantBomb is in a good spot again as well. They have corpo-overlords but are still producing good content.
Been playing it off and on since I got my Steam Deck. I’d say portability does suit it pretty well. It’s a great pick up and play for a bit, complete a few missions and save / suspend game.
There’s a lot to do and see, it just has a problem feeling repetitive if you try to marathon sessions.
On the bright side, I don’t think we’ll have to buy them again. We can play them with a Exclusivity Plus Ultra Platinum Day 0 Premium++ with Squenix 385/2 Materia Edition Subscription™️ for only $50 a month!
