  • Kamala Harris lost every swing state AND the Senate. We live in the same country we did 4 years ago, we live in the same country that elected Barrack Obama twice.

People are paying 50% more for bread, eggs, and rent, with no relief given, no corporate greed stiffled BEFORE it hit average Americans in the face, and just kept hitting them. The average American doesn’t care about economic numbers, they care about whether or not they can pay the rent.

Trump isn’t going to make any of this better, he’s going to make it ordinates worse. People vote for change, when faced with the inevitability of suffering they’ll vote for different, come what may.

  • See, the problem with publicly traded corporations is, they’ve got to constantly not only be making as much money this year as they did the previous year, but they’ve got to increase shareholder value, which means, raising prices, or reducing the product to save costs, we have termed that last bit enshitification. I mean, they don’t HAVE to, but if they choose not to, the board of directors will push for a change in CSUITE personnel, and those fuckers are raking in the big bucks, and really really like their 3rd vacation homes in Aspen, so you pay more, or you get less, and sometimes you pay more AND you get less. And the beat goes on.

  • This is sad news, but not totally unexpected, at least by me. The first season had the dual storylines of young Catherine and older Catherine which really gave it some depth, and it was far grander of a scale. Samantha Morton is fine, but what really grabbed my attention was Liv Hill who played Young Catherine was captivating, and her storyline was a lot more exciting. The Second season while good, was not great, and suffered from being almost claustrophobic in it’s portrayal of the French court. This spinoff with Minnie Driver as Elizabeth could be fun, but she’s playing it waaaay over the top, so we’ll just have to see what they give us. Bonus for all the stars getting paid for a third season without having to do any of the work.

  • “why can’t they just make it good”

well, as it turns out, good, truly good and griping, is hard.

when you have the stars who can carry just about anything, quality can slip a bit, but when you don’t, and it’s been proven the stars you’re using, aren’t compelling personalities, for whatever reason, and don’t have the draw themselves, good becomes paramount. and because the mcu is built around intertwined narratives which are almost completely dependent on characters, when the characters themselves aren’t working (mackie, larson, et all) and the narrative itself is far past being played out, you’re sorta up a creek.

  • Fan service used to be a wink and a nod, which was fun, now it’s an entire industry, which is so not fun.

The snake doesn’t eat it’s own tail, it cuts it off, sells, it and grows the same fucking tail again, then sells it again, ad infinitum.

Movies that have no utility except to make money from fan bases who can’t say no, and Television so bloated with callback and fluff, stuffed into season shortened to 6 -8 episodes, the object of the story is lost.

  • this is such a great movie, it was like a found jewel when i watched it to the first time it came to hbo, it gets a yearly rewatch. tilda swinton’s gabriel literally one of the coolest movie character portrayals i’d ever seen in my life. keanu, weiss, leboeff, rosdale, honsou, stormare jfc this move was packed. like i said, this is on my repeat list. such a great flick.
