For driving I recommend Magic Earth, it’s based on OSM data but uses proprietary traffic information as well

Lawnchair has a lot of different versions and releases in different locations (GitHub, play store, f-droid all different). I use version 14 dev release and it’s under Dock section of settings:
In what world would enhancing a product warrant a cease and desist, lol
I have a 3.5mm jack in my phone and I haven’t used it once for the past two or three years I have used this device. I switched to a pair of tws Bluetooth earbuds in 2019 (around, but definitely pre-covid) and have used the same pair since. Everyone who claims Bluetooth earphones are unrecyclable electric garbage probably have never gotten a proper pair (which doesn’t have to be expensive whatsoever) or any at all
Diacritics such as the mentioned by the person you’re replying to are usually not implemented hardware-wise but rather require the OS to correctly understand key combinations. So you can’t expect the system to simply interpret certain rare keycodes, because there are none.
While some languages may use special hardware keyboard with special physical keys for their characters, such as Swedish with their äåö on the right, other will use international qwerty with special characters implemented as combos, such as Polish with its ąśżźćńłó, which are typed using AltGr
Probably gatekeeping them normies
Have you got Magisk or KSU?
For now I can confirm KSU root does not trigger this RCS block
wait you’re right I messed up, let me edit that part out. I swear it used to say that Jio runs RCS infrastructure for Google.
edit: It was JIBE
Yes it is, it’s been developed by the GSM Association, but Google does have de facto monopoly in the market right now by their Jio virtual carrier. RCS can be freely implemented by carriers and device manufacturers independently of that, but so far only Samsung, T-Mobile USA and Verizon did so — everyone else uses Google’s Messages. Importantly, different RCS implementations can talk to each other, just like email servers, or Lemmy instances.
Apple has been encouraged to enable RCS compatibility in iMessage in a loud campaign by Google, but they are obviously not very eager to do that, as their own research shows the closedness of Apple ecosystem and messaging system is a main driving factor of sales. This has been revealed in the Apple vs Epic Games case hearings
I know about it but this doesn’t really fix the issue because, yet again, that’s merely a solution for a repeatable scenario
I only have Media (shows by default), Ring and Alarm (after expanding) in there. But then again, I’m running a custom rom, based on LineageOS, based on AOSP
mate, I am fully aware I can do that, but then I am say at work, where it gets loud at times, and therefore wish to have the ringer and notifications call a bit louder than at home. Not only do I have to do that with two different settings, I can’t even achieve that using volume buttons and sound panel, but rather have to specifically go to Settings>Sound each time. it’s fucking regressive.
And I know some people prefer to have the ringer call loudly and notifications notify silently, but the point is this used to be customisable! It was a switch between linked volume or separate and it worked fine for years. Why enshittify a perfectly well working thing?!
Especially since Android 12 or 13 all app notifications require a permission in the first place
They had a very specific and useful purpose: notify of ongoing processes. Some apps using them wrong sucked, I agree, but since we have already got a lot of customisation for notifications on a per-app basis then perhaps this should be a customizable thing as well
I use AOSP and it’s there.
Sure, fair point, but some notifications are better persistent
It was always combined for me. In fact there used to be a switch to link or unlink them.
Great in Poland, too. With live vehicle location and shit
Hmm. My mariokart is Peach on the purple motorcycle and I don’t play Smash
