Tons of people still play Skyrim.
Something tells me that, in 10 years, few if any will still be playing Starfield.

Actually I just need to stop buying garbage (which I have done). The power sits with the purchasers in this case.
They could make so many moderate games that would sell amazingly if they just tried to…
100%. That’s the kind of nuanced thinking you won’t get from corporate America at this point.
They aren’t selling because they are designed as money machines first and games second.
Do I get to be the next Tim Sweeney now? As far as I can tell the bar is pretty low.
Epic Games
…it rings a bell, but I’m too busy worrying about people who aren’t corpo shitheads trying to convince the market they can offer something different
It is absolutely shocking to me how long it is taking for fans to turn on Nintendo. They’ve done this hardcore corpo shit for years. They should have a public image far worse than EA by now.
The nostalgic love runs deep, I guess.
Yes. I took a trip to Ireland and rented a car. I had a Garmin GPS unit which I purchased for the trip and was extremely helpful.
I remember the first time I saw GPS units at the electronics store. It seemed like some crazy military grade thing from a movie.
RDR2 was a beautiful game and one of the few that gave me a serious emotional response at the end. But it was a bit long winded along the way, so I’m OK with this.
Translation: Arnold is too old even with de-aging, so the suits have agreed.
What a cop-out.
Bethesda didn’t have trouble making games when they cared about making games. Now, they care about making money. Yes, devs should get paid for their work. But design decisions based on anything other than making a good game poison the well.
This is why small devs are absolutely killing it with indie games on PC at the moment. AAA titles fail over and over again, because they’re designed for C-suite pockets first and gamers second.
Sounds like they want a round of layoffs but don’t want to pay severance.
I only recently saw the Steve McQueen version of this movie, having seen the Pierce Brosnan one many times. I like them both, but the old one is definitely superior and just oozes style in a way that the later one doesn’t.
While I generally wish Hollywood would make new things, there’s enough substance in this story that I think this could be a very cool remake.
Gotta keep that labor pool large so wages can stay low.
The “innovation” side of needing endless growth. Endless changes for the sake of making changes.
I love this hypothetical. I think mine would be:
X-Plane 12 flight sim. Plenty to do and lots of variation between areas, weather patterns, etc. (Unlike MSFS, it is not a live service.)
Automation: the car company tycoon game. It serves very well as a creative outlet when designing your own cars.
Probably some strategy game. Old World? One of the Civs? Maybe Anno 1800, assuming I could get past Ubi Connect or whatever the hell they call it now. 😁
Try a strategy title with the pads, in particular something like Civ, where there is no time limit. Right pad works fantastic as a mouse replacement. Left pad is always kind of just there, though it can be useful as a radial menu if you use the configurator (albeit that makes more sense on Steam Controller since the pads are round).
Came here to say this. I use mine almost every day, specifically for titles that don’t have controller support.
While I do prefer a twin-stick like the DualSense for games with support, you cannot at all beat a Steam Controller for strategy gaming from the couch. I’m still on my first, but have two as backup (it was limit 2 when Valve offloaded them for $5 each).
That DLC is actually $1.49 during the sale, at least in the US.
I’m sure inflation has affected that too
Well, Trump’s tarrifs should make it cost ineffective to import women.
