I instantly picture Phil and Claire from MF as the couple with their role playing…
“Liberty means responsibility. That is why most men dread it.”
“Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

That’s what they want us to think. /s
This would explain the average of a 6th grade level of language skills among adults today…
ps I say this as I’ve only read 2 of the books pictured and War and Peace wasn’t among them.
I don’t think the narrative is he was shut up is correct. Much like how there was a procedural step missed for selecting a trial by jury or by Judge in one of his trials, the judge asked for confirmation that the defendant Trump would stick to the rules of keeping his speech to the trial matters and not to the various other things he likes to ramble on about like a lunatic in a asylum.
The judge never received a response from the defense lawyers so it just expired after a few days. I suspect his lawyers didn’t want Trump to get up there and make matters worse for himself.
The various scam phone calls that threaten jail time due to unpaid tax bills from the IRS (US) and CRA (Canada) is still thing.
It’s humorous when the Chinese/Indian call centers where they originate from mix up the countries when threatening people with the RCMP is coming to arrest an American or the IRS is coming for a Canadian.
However we are expecting these boomers that copy and paste status updates limiting Facebook rights use of their account photos and info at midnight over and over again to navigate these scams on their own.
To be fair much of the customer support for large companies have been offloaded to India and the Philippines so that’s one less barrier to overcome in triggering the BS detector of the not so savvy among us.

I’m surprised the EPA has any teeth to do anything these days with how much the Reds have blocked anything they try to do to improve the health and safety of citizens.
I use to hate Microsoft so much for this with their early hardware I used to buy.
They would abandoned the devices by not providing the drivers needed for newer versions of Windows leaving the device a brick unless you want to still run 98 or XP.
I have a few of these devices in my place as a part of my home automation. It’s been struggling the last year with not confusing the basics and not mixing up the beginning of a news podcast as my voice commands. It seems like the newest display I own has the most issues.
I generally just use it to control and schedule lights and devices with smart plugs. The odd time I try to set timers or reminders but I’ve never really been a big voice command person. I too struggle on the best way to get it to play my YouTube music likes list. I just cast from my phone instead.
One thing it mostly gets right is stopping whatever is playing.
With my Soundbar no longer being new enough to work with Google Assistant I’m not looking forward to when the rest of my smart lights, switches, and plugs join it as we go forward.
Funny they didn’t mention the 1000 people they laid off across the various Assistant divisions being a part of the reason for the changes : https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/11/24034124/google-layoffs-engineering-assistant-hardware
The EU would like to have a talk with manufacturers about this… Much like USB C for iPhones, removable batteries are in the works again thanks to the EU.
Same here, I was wondering if there was some last remnant of Pebble watches still running for a second there.
I miss my Pebble too. I went to a Galaxy Gear S3 for a few years before ending up at a Fossil hybrid smart watch with a ink screen that gives me several days of battery life like my Pebble Steel use to have. It’s ok but it’s no Pebble.
It’s a shame as their hybrid smart watch has been my go to for a few years now. Kind of reminds me of my old Pebble with the always on LCD screen. My gf also uses one too. The several days of battery life was another good feature
