Have you seen the live action Snow White? YIKES!
A middle-aged nerd from the UK. I like films and write about them, sometimes for Film Stories or my blog.
Have a great day.

You can’t really compare budgets to older films due to inflation but I get the point that the budget does seem excessive.
Has somebody just watched Linus Tech Tips 😁? They’ve recently done two videos where they pull apart scenes likes this.

Has anyone watched Hackers? 😆
A great film and it’s a shame a sequel never materialised. We did however get this reunion for a charity auction in 2017.
I watched the original but during the big end battle, because it was all underwater, I wasn’t sure who was doing what. After that, didn’t take need to see the sequel.
With regard to breaking even, I was just recalling what I found on a small article about the film. So who knows what it would really need to break even? Double sounds more realistic though.
Del Toro was incredibly close to shooting an adaptation of At The Mountains of Madness in 2011, when Universal shut the project down. They decided they weren’t going to risk a $150m budget on an R rated for film which would probably need about $500m to break even.
A couple of years ago Del Toro shared a thirty second clip of pre-viz by Industrial Light and Magic. Another film to add to list of what couldn’t been.
Production companies must hate drones! 😆
Industrial Light & Magic kept their original locations a secret, as they didn’t want Star Wars fans rummaging through their trash for bits of models.
I had to log in into the default web UI to see what it was on my PC, but it’s great. Perfect for the sub. By default, I use phtn.app to browse lemmy on my laptop, and the icons are on the small side.
However, on my phone using Thunder, it looks great too.
I’m excited for a new Alien film but worried that it’s hard core horror as I don’t like those kinds of films.
Not sure wether to watch in the cinema through the gaps in my fingers or watch it on streaming later on a bright sunny day with curtains open etc. 😆
Agreed. I saw an interview with him where he explained that he appreciated Dredd Day (many years ago) where fans got the film to the number 1 spot on Amazon’s chart in order to promote interest in a sequel.
But as he further explained, all of the investors lost money on the original film, so getting anyone to invest in a sequel was an impossibility.
I misread that at first, as I know there are plenty of films that have been visually created by AI and just look odd, including a full remake of Terminator 2!
See X-Men Origins: Wolverine! There’s some shoddy CGI blades!
Sorry, there’s only one Uncharted film, it’s only fifteen minutes long and it’s a lot better than the Tom Holland version.
Thank you, I’ll give that a go.
I don’t think they have their open official app but they offer their API free to developers I think.
I’m on Android and I’ve been through several TMDB apps but I don’t really like any of them. I do know that Letterboxd use their API as well but that’s a more social based thing.
Same program, the developer changed the name. 😊
If you like NewPipe but want your videos to skip the annoying bits, there’s a fork called Tubular that incorporates SponsorBlock.
😆 Sorry no, thats the only officially released photo so far.
