Having witnessed teenage boys moaning into a microphone for an entire 25-minute match because my friend (a woman) spoke twice, I would say that it has nothing to do with growing thick skin.
My friend has thick skin. They heard it, muted everyone, calmly asked me to be the middleman for important callouts, and we played out the match. That is just normal there, unfortunately.
It’s like when US police kill a pedestrian in a chase and media outlets say “Pedestrian was Struck by Police Car while Officer was Chasing Suspect.”
No, the police car didn’t strike a pedestrian while a police chase was happening. A police officer struck and killed a pedestrian with their vehicle during a reckless chase. The car isn’t an entity that makes decisions.

I saw a noticeable difference going from a Switch to a Switch OLED, mainly in the contrast in scenes. Greys and blacks can almost look inky in comparison to LCD, and glowing lights (think neon signs) pop out a lot more.
That being said, the topic is the Deck OLED, which I haven’t seen in person, so your mileage will vary.
