Oof, 41°C / 106°F with 80+ humidity is brutal. I can just imagine little to no winds and that air just sitting. I plan on visiting Japan someday but am definitely avoiding going during the peak summer months.

Diving into the earliest death metal, trying to figure out where it all comes from. I’ve been listening to Possessed and Death and wondering why I haven’t listened to them sooner. So cool hearing the transition from thrash to a distinctly new genre.
It’s so hot, I know a guy who’s moving out. It’s like an oven out there.
👆🏻Listen to this man. He knows
Paddington’s going home!
Dinosaur Jr! If you like alternative rock. They’re still touring and putting out great music.
I plan on visiting someday. This is awesome to hear!
Just watched The Lego Movie earlier tonight. I went into it thinking it’s just a kids’ movie, probably not much for substance. But I was pleasantly surprised! For what’s essentially a giant ad for Lego, the movie has no business being actually that good. 10/10, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Got a new electric drum kit and dusted off the ol’ Rock Band 4. xD
Playing King’s Field, a 1994 Playstation RPG by FromSoftware, because I wanted to know where the inspiration for Demon Souls came from. It’s definitely clunky and dated but fun enough if you’re a fan.
Watched Die Farbe yesterday, a German low-budget black and white film adaptation of HP Lovecraft’s The Color Out Of Space. Enjoyed it a lot! It really nails the sense of dread and cosmic horror. My only gripe was I wish the “color” was presented differently because you could definitely describe it. Though I get that it’s hard to film something that’s supposed to be incomprehensible lol.
Just watched Captain Philips starring Tom Hanks – true story about a cargo ship that gets taken over by Somali pirates. Without knowing the story beforehand, the movie was A+. Felt super accurate, none of the Hollywood tropes, just matter of fact dramatization of what happened.
Mission Impossible 3 was a bajillion times better than 2. A whole different movie lol. Jesus christ, Mission Impossible 2 was bad. So many ridiculous moments. TV writing plus filmed like a kung-fu movie, oh my😂
Red Cliff was a solid Chinese war/historical movie. Saw the shorter U.S. version unfortunately, not the 4-5hr long Chinese version. Felt kinda like LoTR and 300, very stylized. Packed with action, awesome cinematography, beautiful shots of China, and actually not beating you over the head with CCP worship (no way! Lol)
Drunken Master with young Jackie Chan was amazing. Finally got around to watching it. Peak skill and athleticism from all actors. When the theme music came on… oh man oh man. You knew shit was going down!
Oh and I watched Life with Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds. Goddang that was a terrible movie. I thought it was space horror, kinda like dead space or something. But these NASA top of the class astronauts were SO dumb and melodramatic, sat around crying and in their feels for half the movie. Like get your shit together, people! The death scenes were ok. The alien design sucked (based on what the cells can do, why does it need a face?) The ending felt cheap, not earned. (Sci-fi horror movie with Ryan Reynolds, I shoulda known…😂.) Give me Alien or Event Horizon any day!
Late autumn sounds perfect actually and it coincides with my birthday. I enjoy the immersion so I’d go for at least a month, hopefully longer if my job can allow it. :D
