I read comments! I watch a lot of videos about self hosting services and the comments is where you find other people who have followed the video and struggled at some point. If you’re lucky it’s a common sticking point you’re stuck on and someone in the comments has a way of fixing it.

I remember the days when I spent time convincing people to use chat apps. The last one that stuck was WhatsApp.

I’ve since stopped installing new chat apps because people won’t use them.

WhatsApp just works. Wanna video call my Mum? Push a button. Wanna send a Lemmy meme to my mates? Yeah it’s 3 taps.

I open up Facebook on me birthday and press the ❤️ on the birthday messages then shut it down and don’t use it for another year.

But if I do that with WhatsApp then I don’t hear from people I actually care about.

I actually have a friend that refuses to use WhatsApp like I do with FaceFuck. “How does she do it then?” I hear you ask.

She uses Facebook Messenger.

I was happy with my Nord OG then the Wife said I could have a Pixel 7a and it would cost me less per month than my SIM only contract, so I said “Yeah fuck it.”

My son is happy with his new Nord and I’m honestly just meh about phones now.

I was well into the ROM scene back in the day. Now I’m old and bored of it all.
