That’s it, indeed it isn’t rooted
Interesting.
Android 12 with syncthing-fork from fdroid does not allow access to the /android/data folder.
I want to backup my downloaded podcasts and whatsapp, but it can’t do it.
Do you have an earlier android version?
I don’t think Sony had said they will do that though.
Just as likely they will pull their phone from Europe lol
Except that they give only half or less of the software support of other manufacturers… I have a Sony 5ii. 2 years after release on the dot, not a single security update after.
They already fucked it up. They support their phones the least in the whole industry among major manufacturers. I think even shitty HMD Global supports their phones for longer now.
Will it have more than a pitiful 2 years of software updates? If not, not interested.
If I didn’t need my banking and identity apps so bad, I would slap lineage on my 5ii.
As someone who doesn’t live in the US:
The data from google and facebook is hoarded by a foreign nation (the US is basically a quasi-democratic plutocracy which also has extremely extensive surveillance both legally and agencies caught working in grey areas) to boost surveillance and that is pretty blatant about their espionage and political propaganda. We get US political right wing propaganda on these platforms all over the rest of the world.
There is a difference of course, but the gap is closing significantly every few years.
It brings the advantage that you should buy new devices to specifically support this feature™.
Go forth and consume for the sake of consumption, citizen.
In seriousness the only advantage is space and hardware companies 30-50c on components (more profit).
It will likely cause more problems than solve in the projects in the form of heat management and efficiency losses. But hey, new shiny feature make line go up? Promotion for google idea man?
No company at all is completely clean outside of some non profits and even then, most of them aren’t.
There is an orders of magnitude difference in anti-consumerism and bad practices between Nintendo, Activision, and EA vs Valve.
Watched the first 3 episodes so far. For me it feels like fallout universe in westworld/HBO “trying to be gritty and shocking”.
Doesn’t scream amazing to me yet, but it has been fun so far.
True, but different frequencies per region. So if you used hardware in the wrong region it could be illegal. Still, in the US and EU at least, it is a public open band.
It is. HMD Global Nokia has been pretty trash quality since the beginning. Bad cameras even for their price class, bad longevity, tons and tons of software bugs that take half a year to fix.
I will never buy an HMD global phone again.
Oh wow! If I leave my 5ii on overnight at 50%, it will be at 20% by morning when I was asleep. But the 10 has a much less power hungry processor, so that definitely plays a role.
My battery is at 70% (according to accubattery) after only charging to 80% for its entire lifespan except for monthly health checks. Extremely dissapointing that it has such a low quality battery. That coupled with the fact that it drains almost 2-3% per hour sitting unused on a desk in WiFi makes it a quite shit battery compared to most other phones I’ve come across besides the HTC10 with its battery drain bug. And you better hope you aren’t in low cell signal area because the Xperias with pump out their battery trying to get a signal forever.
By comparison, my girlfriend’s Samsung drains about 0.4% per hour, can go literally a full day in low cell signal areas, and only has to charge every 2 days if she doesn’t use it much. I have to top up 20% or so by late afternoon to get through the day without dropping to 5%. The trade off is the better camera on the 5ii.
The Xperias are above average flagship phones, pretty much all of the critical things for longevity they messed up. Battery cycles, software support, and charging port mating cycles. Which I guess makes sense given they want you buying new ones since their target audience is small.
That would be nice because their current 2 years of support is pitiful. It was on the dot too. no support for my 5 ii at all after exactly 2 years after launch…

Charging port is beginning to get a bit loose too already.
Lego racers was amazing, but the last box just cheated straight up lol
Lego racers 2 was shit on a lot, but it was my first open world game and I played the shit out of it lol. Being able to drive to different biomes was very cool.
Nintendo take note
Well if you selfhost it you can use your own custom domain via reverse proxy
I love the absurdity of game reviewers 😂
“This game is the pinnicle of its genre”
“This is the 1 game I would bring to a desert island”
“one of the most captivating puzzle games ever”
85%, 88%, 70%, a C to a B. That is just above average.
Meanwhile you get an absolute broken AAA piece of crap that barely functions, incoherant story, generic and boring and those same reviewers say “70-80%”. So there is a <10% difference between absolutely mastering a genre and releasing straight garbage?
