The frat-bro culture of harassment and abuse started way before the merge with Activision.
Blizzard North was separate from the Irvine studio, I believe. Their Diablo 3 was in development for a while too.
But yeah, I guess that’s what people mean, the old design philosophy. But I can’t help it now. Old Blizzard seems tainted to me. At least starting from the WC3+WoW era.
Do we really want old Blizzard back?
Personally, with all that we learned about the frat-bro culture there, I don’t want it back. Hell, if it meant those didn’t get abused, I’d erase it.

I don’t know enough to judge the situation fully, but, from what I’ve heard, their co-op functioning isn’t always easy to do. I do wish we had more co-op game studios to improve the model over time.
