Afaik that only applies if the app is processing payments, which in this case it shouldnt be.

McDonald’s was just an example, the point is most apps don’t need to do that at all.
I do happen to know how payment systems like that work, and thankfully those are all cloud-based, the only thing the app does is start transactions and check with the server if they’re paid. If they implemented it well, as I suspect a big corpo like McDonald’s probably would, their own order screen also checks server-side if orders are paid. Not much you can do from the app side to mess with that.
Oh I don’t know if mcdonald’s specifically does this, I’ve never used the app, I just used it as an example because that’s what the guy above was talking about as well.
It’s the same system, it’s all part of play integrity. And that also applies to this bullshit, why does McDonald’s care if I didn’t install their app from the play store?
Not a single app on my phone was installed through Google Play, it’s all Aurora. Guess if apps really do this i’ll just have to stop using them, cause I’m not installing the play store.
Ngl i think I’d prefer just entering a password once manually over Google doing some magic bullshit to make it work across devides.
What does that even mean? What PC? What were the specs? Do they mean a PC with similar specs to an Xbox? The article doesn’t explain any of this.
Proton drive has a photo backup option in the app, but their gallery thing is still lacking in features. You can’t edit or crop photos, and you can’t create albums and stuff like that. It’s really just a list of photos and nothing more.
For those use cases I don’t think I would, no.
You can control music, but it’s very primitive and doesn’t have a home-screen widget for example. The watch itself has alarms you can set, but it won’t ring when one on your phone goes off afaik, and you can’t reply to notifications, only view them.
Yeah just checked cause I didn’t see it either, turns out ublock origin blocks it.
I’ve been using a pinetime for a while now. While it’s far from a full smartwatch, it does all I need it to do, which is pretty much just tell the time and show me notifications from my phone. Has been working great so far.
It’s also theoretically repairable, but the production models get glued shut so they’re watertight, so idk how easy that’s gonna be.
Isn’t higher current bad for battery longevity? How long will this thing last if you regularly charge it like that?
Oh yeah never thought about that, is the bar that pops up when you swipe when you’re already in an app also part of the launcher?
Wonder how they did that, or if they just gave their own launcher some special integration like they usually do, to allow it to somehow listen to global gestures or something.
Iirc LineageOS always names their builds nightly, right? I don’t think they have any real stable builds. (as in no builds tagged stable, their nightlies should be considered stable afaik)
This is not true. I’ve seen a lot of people from my own country and others claim the same thing, but so far every time I’ve looked it up for countries it turned out to not be true.
You just have to be clear about which payment methods you accept upfront.

I mean I’m not worried about anything, I’m just not going to buy it.
Ah the beta might im not sure, but it’s definitely not in the stable release yet.
Yeah we just need support from Android, which will also come in 15 iirc
Lmao I’m pretty sure it would do the exact opposite of all of those things.
