yeah, on previous phones I played cat-and-mouse with magisk and all kind of patch to have Wallet work, but it breaks every 2 or 3 weeks and you have to chase down how to re-fix it…

Same for PoCo ? It seems the PoCo F3 is one of the phone with the most custom ROM development on XDA, very popular.

Well, I have for 3 years now a PoCo F3 with MIUI, and HyperOS now, and never had an ads or bloatware, in the first hour I got the phone, I just uninstall/disabled some apps and didn’t consent on the “miui” stuff, that’s it.

Imagine in Canada, where real news media like TV, newspaper, etc, cannot be used by Meta (FB, IG, etc). So in a Canadian facebook feed, you only have conspiracy and right-wing false info, that’s it. For the people who took their info from FB, they are flooded by fake/alarming news.

Something else, gardening, cleaning up basement, etc. When I watch entertainment it is mostly tv/streaming.

I am the target audience, 50yo, grown up reading comics in the 70s/80s, love Star Wars, am nerd, computer geek, played zillions RPG, saw all the SW, goonies, ET, BTTF, mad max, terminator and all shwarzy movies in theater, etc. Seriously, MCU movies are somewhat bad, dull, some characters looks like impersonator, heroes in thigh, actors lack credibility, too often bad CGI, stories are empty, I realized comics from the 70s/80s are really story for kids. They are actions movies, but uninsteresting. At 50yo I prefer to do something else during those 2 hours.

It’s about everywhere, also in USA, when a newly elected official having a net worth of nothing significant, earn, let’s say, 200k per year, but after 5 years has a net worth of 10 millions ?!?

In Canada it’s tap to pay for ~8 years now, never saw a QR code to pay. However when I go in USA, every stores is tap to pay, except one, there’s one store in USA where there is no tap, it’s Walmart, inconcevable.

It will be what? $1000? And the problem with Motorola in general is their update. One Android update, some security ones, and that’s it.

As soon as you unlock your bootloader and root, you have to install magisk and random fix-of-the-day to fix Google Wallet/Pay. It’s a pain in the ass, it works for a few days/weeks and it’s a catch game too often, it’s boring, really.

TotalCommander.

I was using Norton Commander in DOS in the 90s, then WindowsCommander in Windows 3, which was renamed TotalCommander. Using this for maybe 35 years. I don’t know how to use Windows gui to copy/paste or explore multiple folders etc.

Everything is good except ram, 4GB is unfortunately not enough on 2024 because apps are bloated
