Yeah, I agree about the DLC. It was fun, but had a very different vibe from the main story, and yeah it all felt like overkill. As much as it added to the story, I didn’t need the horse armor backstory and the new horse skill-tree. The horse skills could have been useful in the main game, but it felt wasted in the DLC, I barely got to use them. Loved the new map though, it felt so different from the other regions.
I think that’s why the Tsushima map had such an impact on me. It’s one of those games where if you just look around for a few seconds you can quickly tell which part of the world you’re in. It’s all breathtakingly gorgeous, but the details in the vegetation, landscape, and atmosphere are aesthetically varied and blatantly unique. You’re right it’s not particularly realistic, but I think that’s how they managed to make it all feel so big and beautiful. Freaking love that game.
Basically, if you’re poor fuck you and drown. If you’re rich, also fuck you but you’ll ultimately be fine, because you’re rich.

I’ve been waiting for the price to come down a bit, and because I’ve learned my lesson to always wait a while before buying any Star Wars game.
But I’ll definitely buy it eventually, just like I eventually buy every Star Wars game. Wonder if more people are learning the same lessons as me?

Geez just let people play the game however the hell they want. Unless it’s a multiplayer esports title that people compete on, cheating hurts absolutely no one.
Starfield is only playable because of mods, for example. Sometimes us normal people with jobs literally can’t grind resources for days in order to craft that one item. Would these studios rather we not pay $50 for their games? Because that’s my only recourse.
I understand that I don’t technically own most of the games I spend my hard-earned cash on, but once I’ve paid, it’s none of their goddamn business how I choose to use it.

Let me preface this by saying I believe in science. But it’s worth remembering that scientists are people. And science like this, while it may sound cool and promising, obviously carries massive irreversible risks, and that’s before we take the people into account. I don’t care how closely they monitor the experiments. I count these types of trials in the same vein as releasing genetically modified mosquitos into the wild to breed an infertile generation. Sounds like it could maybe work, but the risks and potential unforeseeable knock-on effects are not worth it.
There was public backlash for a reason. And while I’m not normally in favor of catering to a public that is mostly scientifically-illiterate, in some cases the gut reaction is the right one.
Wanting something to be true doesn’t make it so. I played, and I even enjoyed big parts of it (after heavily modding, to be fair). I think it got more hate than it deserved, but in no reality can it be considered a really good game, let alone their best.
