Keeping a Raspberry Pi online and working with zero intervention for weeks, months, or years is somewhat of an art form. Several classes of things can go wrong, and you need to consider how your Pi will recover from each of them.

    If you intend to run a service like nextcloud or something that necessitates a lot or writing to a disk, I recommend gettingan nvme hat and booting off that.

    I have a nextcloud instance thats been going for about a year and it’s been pretty great.

    Before that my instance’s SD card died after about 6 months.

    Was really hoping for more information than what was shared here; from other places and websites already. I have a few pi’s running long term from the original pi zeros, B+ to a few zero 2 W. Only had to replace a few SD cards, but mainly I avoid that with the read only filesystem.
