Pretty difficult to do a combined article the day before the second article came out. The first article is a straight report of a report. I probably would have tweaked the headline a bit and included information about the organisation producing the report - how accurate its previous reports had tended to be, any political leaning etc. but it’s not terrible
So - which of these two stories would you have liked them not to report?
Both are extremes so both are terrible. A single article that combined both would have been better than either.

So the polar opposite is true one day after the first report?
Maybe they should have done some journalism stuff the first day.
