Lots of negativity here. I thought the show was good enough to earn some Emmy noms. The acting in particular was pretty outstanding, everything else struck me as “pretty good” but not quite Emmy level. I’m actually surprised that Ella Purnell was not nominated for lead actress, she really brought to life a character that had a lot of levels.

I am a longtime Fallout fan and I loved the show. They nailed the feel of the games in a different medium, so that should be applauded. Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins were perfect for the roles. I don’t really care about Emmy’s, but fuck the haters

You need to watch more shows if you think Fallout was worth awards. Like someone else said, it was fun, but it was not that good.

Your first sentence was passive aggressive. You suggested that the person is not worthy to judge, based on your own judgement of the show, and you suggested that they don’t have a basis to form a judgement based on their lack of watch history. Here it is, for posterity-

You need to watch more shows if you think Fallout was worth awards.

Tone is tough online. You’re probably trying to be helpful, but some people will read a strongly worded direct suggestion as unfounded criticism. Acknowledging the other opinion as valid before offering the suggestion is one way to soften the tone without massively changing the core of your point.

Well, honestly if someone can’t contextualize tone on a forum they shouldn’t be in a position to threaten mod actions. It’s pretty important to be able to read things correctly.

The moderator explained it to you very clearly.

Your sentence, will not having an outright insult in it, did diminish the other person’s experiences and perspectives.

If you can have a conversation with people without insulting them directly, or diminishing their opinions and taking them at face value you will get better engagement and have better discussions.
