turns out I did my math wrong, so it’s a little less than 30 days
July 12th, 2024 @ midnight EDT
https://canvas.fediverse.events
✨ this year’s event also supports the entire fediverse not just Lemmy!
(you have to be able to make/receive text posts, like mastodon, lemmy, pixelfed, etc) (peertube accounts will not work)
you can get update announcements on other fedi platforms with
@canvas@fediverse.events
link
For such a small community[s] *.nz did well last year, looking forward to the coming event.
@grant@toast.ooo can you put the time in gmt / utc for the rest of the world?
for some reason this post didn’t get federated to toast, weird
July 12th, 2024 @ 4am UTC (the countdown is also on the website – https://canvas.fediverse.events)
So… What is it exactly?
Did you ever participate in r/place?
It’s pretty much the same thing. Each user can place a pixel every few minutes, and over a few days, an artwork appears.
This was the 2023 result:
Thank you! It looks like it needs more people for more excitement, but on the other hand, one-man projects look possible. Should be fun :-)
Last year’s canvas was 1000x1000, but this year’s is only 500x500. The influx of users from the Rexxit a year ago has died down a bit, but I feel like the remaining users are more active. It will be interesting to see how this year goes.
Oh, that sounds reasonable.
