As someone about to face a head-on hit from a cat 5 hurricane after just dealing with one… yeah we are all fucked.
Anyone that thinks climate change is a hoax is a complete fucking idiot.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free 🇵🇸

Earlier this week I did 3 nights in a row where I watched a psychological horror film. I watched:
Longlegs was probably my favorite among the 3. I love dark pagan thrillers and stuff in the realm of Se7en.
Based and orcapilled.
Thanks! I’m never getting rid of this URL.
Anyone that uses “woke” unironically is not someone I will ever take seriously. Criticizing someone for having awareness of reality is peak modern day anti-intellectualism.
These big companies have it all backwards. We don’t need them; they need us. I don’t suddenly like slot machine video games just because their fucking bean counters say so. Ever since I bought a Steam Deck, I’ve played nothing but indie and old games, and I ain’t going back. You can keep your 3 bundles and your $70-110 price tags. I’ll play 500 hours of Vampire Survivors before I’ll buy another casino that they happened to build a game around.
In the wise words of the Soulsbourne community: GIT GUD (at not making shitty games).
If the earth is fucked, the art won’t matter anyway. Fossil fuel companies continue to ruin the planet and expensive art is something that only the wealthiest can afford. So I view this like I do BDS: an attack on the things the wealthy need and want (money) because it’s the only attack vector available to the working class. The art is secondary to the message anyway. You don’t have to support the tactics but it helps to understand how we got here and recognize that extreme responses to extremely dire situations are going to become more commonplace as things inevitably get worse.
Also, the art has protective plexiglass over it and soup wipes off.
My town has some massive trees that I swear drop the temp under them what feels like 5-10 degrees. It could be a sweltering hot day and it’s still lovely under them.
My (non-)issue is more with the fact that she looks too polished for a character that exists in a post-apocalyptic world. Both her clothes and some facial characteristics, like the perfect eyebrows.
This game is already great IMO. It really doesn’t need a remaster.
Imagine thinking that banning books is fine, and then turning around and saying you live in a free country without even a shred of irony.
Shit in, shit out. That’s AI. You can’t guarantee a single thing it says is true, and you have to play whack-a-mole forever to get it to behave. Imagine knowing this and still investing time and money in it. We could be investing that in education and making the human experience better, but instead we’re stuck watching capitalists harness it to replace people, and shove half-baked ideas out the door as finished products.
Look, I love tech. I’ve worked in tech for 20 years. I’ve built apps that use AI. It’s the one tech that I despise watching capitalists have control of. It’s just chatbots all the way down that don’t know what they’re regurgitating, and eventually they’re going to be vacuuming up nothing but other AI content. That is going to be the future. Just bots talking to other bots. Everything completely devoid of humanity.
I actually looked this up a little while back while talking to a friend about how impatient drivers are here. There are studies that show this to be the case.
Floridian here and you basically described it to a tee. Why are there so many entitled assholes here? I can’t leave my house for 5 minutes without encountering some of the worst people society has to offer.
The heat and humidity are ultimately what’s driving us away. When summer hits, we basically don’t go outdoors at all because it’s 1000% fucking miserable.
I’m glad I played through this on the PS4. I’m tired of Sony’s bullshit data hoarding anti-consumer antics.
I learned recently that it’s called “unregretted attrition”.
They could’ve done that without the greedy crypto aspect, but as the enshittification trend goes, they just couldn’t help themselves.
But Gametech’s efforts to legally acquire the Flappy Bird name seem to go back much further than that. Back in 2014, an outfit called Mobile Media Partners tried to claim the Flappy Bird trademark in a filing made mere days after Nguyen pulled the game from the App Store. Coincidentally enough, the specific New Jersey address listed by Mobile Media Partners on that 2014 application matches an address used by Gametech Holdings in the paperwork for its 2023 legal efforts.
Purely opportunistic bullshit and painting it as anything innocent is disingenuous.
Project Zomboid. That’s the most recent game I can think of where I reduced the difficulty (and that’s coming from someone that has nearly 400 hours into Elden Ring). It’s not that the game is tougher than ER or anything like that. It has a ton of cool mechanics and detail that are really enjoyable if you’re into zombie survival games, but the zombies can really swarm you in that game and you won’t live long.
It also has sandbox mode where there’s no zombies and you can focus on farming, building, etc.
Capitalists don’t know shit about what the working class wants. These video game folks continue to prove this true.
So true. I actually love dogs. Just not all of them. The same goes with cats, but I generally gel better with their personalities. Cats have always gravitated to me.
It really depends on the dog for me, and sometimes it’s less the dog’s fault and more the owner’s fault. My wife was bit and chased by a dog as a kid, so she immediately has issues with them.
The thing I dislike is the entitlement of owners that bring their dog into every business. It’s fine if your business has signs stating it’s okay, but I’ve seen people walk right into places with their dog and not even question it. For them, it’s somehow flipped in their heads and they think dogs are permitted unless otherwise stated. Then you have the folks that buy fake support vests for their dogs, which is just a dick thing to do. It undermines people that actually have a need for a support pet.
I’ve always been a cat person but I’m not the type that fucking advertises it everywhere.
The TikTok ban used to be about trying to squash pro-Palestine sentiments and media. I guess this works too.
