I've had the good fortune of finding myself is some mind blowing musical situations over the years. Thanks to Fred Litwin, who believed in this project, we were able to take this one all the way to the Junos. I just found a bunch of videos I had forgotten existed from our second Slide To Freedom Album which we recorded in Ashcroft, BC at the Pioneer Opera House. I got to spend a week there with some amazing musical compadres... and listen to John Boutte lift the roof every day with his beautiful spirit and voice. This was the first run through of Amazing Grace - there are some sticky moments but John's singing is sublime. I will have an entire chapter on the making of the Slide To Freedom albums in my upcoming book but for now, I wanted to share this recording with you. I have a few others that feature Salil burning down the house on some of the more instrumental stuff - so watch for those if you dig this! I sure do miss playing music with live people!
